Troubleshooting

Basic Troubleshooting

Go to “Settings” > “Network Settings”.

In here you will find the initial steps we take when we troubleshoot tickets. Before submitting a ticket, please follow the steps listed below that are causing issues with your service.

  1. Chromecast, Roku, PS3/PS4 & Some Android Devices
  2. Region Selection Not Working
1. How to blacklist hard-coded DNS IP’s.

If you are having problems switching regions, it is possible that your app is using hard-coded DNS servers. In order to work around this, we need to block access to the hard-coded DNS servers.

Setting up the workaround on these devices requires a bit more work due to the fact that their DNS entries are hard-coded in. There is a way to overcome this, but it requires some work. Below are instructions on how to do this. Please follow each step.

IMPORTANT: You must first set up the uFlix DNS servers in your router. Different routers have different ways of doing this, but please look at the basic instructions located at this page to set them.

Step 1. Log in to your routers administration panel and search for a section that allows you to add static routes.

Step 2. Set up your routes to look like this –

Network Address: 8.8.8.8
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your router – this is the IP in the address bar of your browser. It will normally be 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x)

Network Address: 8.8.4.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your router – this is the IP in the address bar of your browser. It will normally be 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x)

Once you have followed these steps, please restart your device and try again.

2. Region Selection Not Working on Desktop & Laptop

Step 1. Ensure you have selected your desired region in the uFlix control panel.
Step 2. Please clear your browsers history, cookies and cache.
Step 3. Close your browsers window.
Step 4. This is a relatively simple and easy procedure to do.
